OF COURSE! People are constantly giving me these strange looks when I tell them that my boyfriend is 4,000 miles away. I moved from the mid-west to the Southeast coast 4 months ago and had to leave my boyfriend behind. It irks me when people try and tell me it's not worth it, it won't work out, that's so dumb... IT IS WORTH IT! Absence really does make the heart grow fonder. Good-bye is hard to say over and over, but I really do think that being apart is showing us how strong we can really be for each other. Not only that, but our trust has grown immensely, and we have learned to communicate much more.
So many people out there doubt the validity of LDRs and take them for granted. My favorite quotation EVER goes a little something like this:
We are the BOLD ones, willing to spend a lot of time alone in exchange for a little bit of time with the one we love. We are the ones who know a good thing when we see it, even if we don't see it nearly enough.
Spread the word, fellow LDRs! We are stronger than people think, and only when you're apart do you know the real value of your relationship.
