I haven't caught my partner cheating, but he has told me about some of the female soldiers hitting on the guys, and often doing more than just that... Also told me about how a lot of the soldiers he worked with (guys and girls, mixture of single and married/taken) having a bit too much 'fun' with the locals at their port visits. All this happened on a 7-month deployment where a lot of them spent almost all their time on one of those big Navy ships, so I'm not sure how much temptation is there when they're on land. Just by what i've heard and read, cheating on deployment seems kind of common... for both the soldiers and the spouses at home. I can't speak for everyone though..
