My husband and I were dating for 3 months before he left for basic and AIT. It was 5 months before I got to see him for 4 days. And then he came bhome 2 months later. A year later, 3 days after we got married he left for a month of training. I got to see him Saturday nights an have lunch with him on Sundays. We thought we'd have 2 months before he deployed but the month after training he had to go through more processing and was back and forth between our home state and where we live. The month after that he entered pre-deployment training. I saw him at Christmas for 10 days and now I haven't seen him since. I get to see him for 4 days this month before he leaves for a 9-10 month deployment.
We both knew we could trust eachother and that neither one would cheat (which is a huge thing since he was in San Antionio with all these military guys and you know how guys get when they're with other guys). And I know he wouldn't lie to me because he can't...he's tried it before and he ended up confessing.
We've been together almost 3 years now. We've had maybe a year together without any long term training/deployments. It'll be almost a year before we can finally "start" our marriage. I'm not going to lie our situation sucks more than anything, but he's my husband and I vowed to stand by him no matter what.
