I've been in a LDR for just under a year now. I know people usually think of LDR's as when two people meet face to face, then one moves away. Well what about if one person lives in Australia, and the other in England. We met when we were both on holiday in Canada, we swapped MSN addresses at the end of my holiday (I was there for a week, him for two.) When he got back to England we started chatting over msn, and in February this year he asked me out. I said yes, obviously. We haven't seen each other since, it's too hard for us to see each other - he's at college, I'm in my final year at school and it's too expensive to travel half way round the world for week on holiday. It can be hard, never knowing what they're doing. But with trust and a good amount of comunication it can work. When he leaves college he's planning on spending his gap year in Australia with me - and apart from that, we wont see each other again till he leaves university...
It is about talking the above issues logically and proactively, laying down preunderstanding conditions to make the other party develop complete faith and security in the relationship.
