Chris and i met when we were at University together in Plymouth, UK. It was at a halloween party that i first spotted him, i had no idea that he had asked his friend to invite me because he had seen my picture on facebook. We didnt really get to speak that night because we were both too shy i suppose.
The next night the same group of people went out and after a bit of liquid courage, he approached me and we spoke all night. After that day we were inseraperable for weeks. It was a month before the christmas holidays when i heard i had to leave my course at university because apparently there had been a mistake and i was not eligeable to be on the course. I was originally from London so i knew we had a problem. After a lot of talking, we decided to do a LDR and it was quite hard at first because neither of us had ever done anything like that and a lot of people were telling us to just call it a day and go our sperate ways as we had only known each other for a month. But there was something about Chris that till this day always captured me. We are extremely similar and different in many ways.
Anyway, so i moved back to London and visited him once every month until June last year when he graduated and moved back home in Kent which was lucky because it was only 30 mins travel by train to see him.
Things became really easy for us then because neither of us were studying and he was really close so i could easily visit him whenever i got the chance. Around september 2008 i realised that i had to continue with my education and i knew that i would not be able to get one in England. I spoke to my family and Chris and i knew it was best if i did the same course but in a different country... how i came up with the idea of Australia is beyond me.
Chris and i were not sure whether we could handle being over 10000 miles apart with just a phone call/email or letters to keep us happy until one of us visited the other once a year. After spending so much time with him it was hard to imagine being away from him for such a long time.
So one day he surprised me by sitting me down and telling me that he had decided to move to Austalia with me. This was probably the best news i had ever had in my life. The only problem was he had just graduated and like the rest of the uni graduates he had some massive loans and overdrafts to pay off. So he stayed in the UK until he could pay off his debts and get enough money to come to australia with a working holiday visa. Its been 2 months now since i moved here and he will hopefully be here in July. I never knew it would be this hard not having him around but i love him so much and i love him more everyday. Some say real love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes you reach for more, that is definetely how Chris makes me feel, like i could do anything in the world as long as he is a part of me.
